We are excited to launch our new video health service.

Over a two-way secure video your physio will check over the problem areas that are affected, formulating a diagnosis and a treatment plan to reduce pain and restore your strength and mobility.

Your physio will ask you questions via the video link and ask you to perform a number of movements and tests to establish what is happening in the affected area and also how best to help you.

Depending on your needs our physio may run through some self management strategies, demonstrate some exercises and stretches , explain the do's and don'ts and give reassurance as to how to best rectify your current problem.

They will leave you with an understanding of the causes of any symptoms or discomfort and a plan for recovery in the form of self management strategies, stretches and exercises.

They can then review you regularly to progress your treatment regime.

A sports massage is ideal to treat injuries as well as providing preventative treatment. helping the health of muscle and connective tissue, range of movement, tone, symmetry, balance of muscle and quality of posture.

Sports massage at Physiolistic is a useful adjunct to rehabilitation and treatment but is also useful for anyone with an active lifestyle as it provides a holistic approach to general body functioning and injury prevention. Our sports massage therapists believe in easing out muscle tightness to help restore normal movement. They use various massage techniques during their sessions which will be specific to your needs.

If you are wanting someone to look into the cause of your pain and give a diagnosis , then a physiotherapy assessment is a better option. Sports massage is for targeting tight and painful muscles and giving good symptomatic relief but not for getting to the root cause of the problem.

Although it is called sports massage , you do not have to be sporting, it is a therapeutic form of massage. The depth and pressure of the massage will be varied to individual needs.

By simply walking across the plate the equipment takes 500 pressure images a second and provides information such as the distributed force, speed and pressure associated with your gait.

This information is then collated and in conjunction with the physical tests we determine whether an orthotic is required for your shoes either to prevent injury or improve performance.
